THOUGHTS
ON P.F.GOGGIN 'S SUBMISSION TO THE SHERIFFS COURT
1.
Pauline is very much under the impression that it is only my
relationship
with Sue which is causing the problem, and she wants
to
keep a home available in case the relationship breaks up.
The
fact is that the relationship with Pauline ended the day of
her
last attack. Her eyes were glazed, spittle formed on her lips
like
foam and for the first time I realised I am not able to deal
with
this kind of situation, and have no intention of doing so.
2.
Pauline has been unable to accept any blame for her actions
and
has deflected any criticism by many ruses, not to mention
straight
dishonesty. Ever since I have known her she has used
some
excuse or another for her actions. with phrases like if it
wasn't
for your mother we would have a stable marriage, or if it
wasn't
for my hormones I would be able to cope. The reasons for
her
not coping have changed, but it is still basically someone
else
fault that she can not cope.
3.
Pauline's dishonesty. She became divorced from her previous
husband
by using evidence she submitted to her doctor about his
actions.
If doctor Stuart would have told me of her doubts or
thoughts
in 1990 I would have left Pauline then, and avoided a
further
4 years of grief, abuse, and many sleepless nights. I would
have
still had a good relationship with my children, be better
placed
financially, and wound up the business easier.
4.Doctor
Stuart is very inconsistent, Before the fibre farm
season
started she phoned me to tell me that Pauline was not fit
to
run the fibre farm this year. At the end of the season when
she
admits that Pauline is in a state, she considers Pauline is
capable
of running a dairy and farm single handed.
5.Pauline's
accusations have altered from her first submission
were
she accused me of thumping her. to being thrown to the ground
three
times. I do not think that she will eventually tell the
truth
at this stage.
6.Events
which have occurred since the last sheriffs court.
Pauline
entered Doehouse and informed my Line manager that I was
not
to return to Doehouse. I had not expected to be evicted thus
had
all my personal possessions and Sue's possessions in the
house.
When
I arrived back in Orkney on the 2 November I found the house
empty
but my diary had been tampered with.
From
Monday the 7th November she entered the house every day to
search
for my diary and any evidence she could use against me.
personal
effects tampered with, draws opened and searched.
I
took my diary to work out of harms way.
9th
November, I spoke to Dennis Gowland about his wife's work at
the
Coastguard station over Christmas, to find that Pauline was
living
with the Gowland's. She had deliberately made herself
homeless,
as far as possible from the school at Stromness.
Her
dogs were in kennels, (no reason why she took them in the
first
place), and the pony at Deerness ,which is overstocked with
horses.
Dennis
said all Pauline wanted was a roof over her head
for
herself and the children, until Sam the youngest, left school.
I
complained that messages were being left in the internal
distribution
system at work and this should cease.
I
was told that Pauline's car (in my name) was broken and she
wanted
to change it but did not have the car details or insurance
policy,
as the insurance is in my name and any driver not hers
I
thought she would have to get her own but sent a photostat copy
of
the insurance certificate with the registration documents and
a
letter to her.
on
10 November Sue arrived back from her trip south, feeling
groggy
and still a little sick from the crossing. Before she was
able
to relax and have a cup of tea Pauline arrived with her son
Jonathan,
while Pauline was abusive to Sue, Jonathan went next
door
to accuse Peter of ignoring his mother. He was told politely
but
firmly that peter had not heard his mother and was not
interested
in being piggy in the middle of divorce proceedings.
John
was less than pleasant but left to join his mother in the
general
slagging off and abuse of Sue.
11
November Sue in no mood for a repeat of the previous day left
the
house shortly after I did for sanctuary in Kirkwall.
In
the morning a goat died of johnes disease, and one of Pauline's
favourite
goats was beginning to suffer pain from complications
of
Johnes disease. I phone the Gowland's at Deerness who were
accommodating
Pauline, to ensure the animal was put out of its
misery.
At
midday I received an abusive call from Pauline telling
me
to put the animal down, and accusing me of systematic violence
over
a number of years, I had heard exactly the same dialogue
when
ever she spoke about her previous husband, so I did not
answer
but hung up.
When
I arrived home I found a terse not from Pauline.
The
day before I bought some flowers and chocolates for Sues
return.
The red rose was screwed up in the waste bin and the
remainder
of the flowers laid on the body of her favourite goat.
She
was obviously distressed.
I
then started my holiday.
On
21 November to our surprise Pauline arrived at Doehouse, in her
new
car, she was acting very odd. She walked around the property
like
a military inspection, then came into the house. She then
went
through all the rooms of the house and dairy like the FBI
on
a drugs search.
when
she had completed her inspection she took towels and sheets
from
the airing cupboard, and then started her normal rant and
abuse.
It was obvious she considered that if she gets rid of Sue
then
all will be OK. She said she wanted the house , dairy , and
her
animals and space for me to return when I came to my senses.
As
she is not intending to sell the property for many years.
After
she left Sue went to the toilet to be sick, she was very
upset.
We
then took action to leave Doehouse to avoid further
intimidation.
27
November received a bill from Birsay Farmers, on the account
was
a bill for a wheelbarrow, when I queried this I was told my
wife
had bought it and she took it away it was not delivered.
I
went to my bank, interviewed by Mrs Muirhouse, who told me that
Pauline
had complained that she was excluded from the joint
account,
I had been to the bank to cancel the joint account
earlier
that month, and saw a locum manager who explained that
it
was alright providing I wanted to accept the overdrawn
account.
I said that was OK , unfortunately no paperwork went
with
the account change , the bank apologised for the error and
the
position they found themselves in.
I
also signed forms to transfer the Giro bank account from joint
names
to single account in the name of Pauline, That account was
in
credit for £344. The Clydesdale account was overdrawn by £244
I
am not impressed at Pauline's actions of buying goods or
services
against my name and think it is dishonest and should
stop.
